Japanese Sencha Kakagawa Green Tea
Japanese Sencha Kakagawa Green Tea
Known to be one of the truest expressions of Japanese tea, and generally named the best in the world, Sencha Kakagawa is named for the prefecture in which it is produced, and often referred to as Samurai Tea. (due in no small part to the fact that Japan’s most influential Samurai, Saigō Takamori was from the same prefecture. He was later dubbed Japan’s last true samurai.) Sencha Kakagawa is often used in Japanese tea ceremonies, and matcha, which is most well known for it’s part in the Japanese tea ceremony is also most commonly made from Japanese Sencha. This tea is smooth with a great grassy depth and wonderful green tea flavor.
