Lucky Dragon Hyson Green Tea

Hyson is traditionally translated as old to medium leaves, or leaves below the new growing shoots at the top of the bush. The term “young” was added to distinguish that the tea was made from the younger leaves at the top of the bush, and were therefore more flavorful. Lucky Dragon then became so named from a particular factory to distinguish their tea from others because even though it is produced in the same fashion as other young hysson, it is far superior. So superior in fact, that the tea became so highly favored in the 1700s that the British Tea Tax was actually higher for this tea than all of the rest. This tea has all of the fresh green character that you would expect to be a part of any springtime tea experience. Sweetly vegetal and slightly earthy it’s sure to become your favorite green tea.
